  1. Creepy cocktailsMix some sugar syrup with red food colouring to drizzle in or around glasses to serve cocktails in. Use dry ice to make a mystical mist across your drinks.
  2. Lurking In The Locality- If there are any big events happening near your restaurant or bar like ghost tours, zombie runs, Halloween shows etc tie in with event organisers to offer things such as pre show dinner and drinks at special rates.
  3. Hocus Pocus - Hire a fortune teller or tarot card reader to set up in your bar for the night. Something different!
  4. Petrifying PromotionsContact your suppliers. A lot of drinks companies will offer POS promotional materials and decorations for different seasonal occasions. Put them to use! If your staff won’t be wearing the silly hats your suppliers send out, give them away with drinks or use them as spot prizes for customers.trick
  5. Dreadful Dressing Up - Fancy dress is always a popular option! Have prizes on the night for best dressed/most original costume. If budget allows, go all out and throw a ticketed themed event. A glamorous Gatsby party, choose an era, 50′s/60′s etc book a band who will play that kind of music for the night and get the staff involved with the fancy dress too.
  6. Frightful Family Fun - Have face painting, a magician or balloon modelling, pumpkin decorating and carving, colouring competitions, kids fancy dress (best parent and child costume!)
  7. Monstrous MenusUse printed menus for the day, change the names of your dishes to something a little more spooky! Chicken wings are now bat wings.. Soup is now a witches broth…
  8. Morbid Movies - Project Halloween movies on to one of your walls! During the day – Casper, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice. By night – The Shining, Psycho, or have all your customers join in the Time Warp with Rocky Horror!
  9. Scary Selfies - From the start of October, announce throughout your social media channels that you’ll be holding a competition on Halloween night. Have your customers upload their “scary selfies” making sure to tag your bar/pub/restaurant and #halloween15 or something similar to be in with a chance of winning prizes. This gets your name out on all forms of digital media from anyone who enters.
  10. Terrifying Treats - Handing out Halloween lollipops or sweets when customers are getting their bill or after food is a nice touch, especially if there’s kids! Maybe make up small themed party bags with sweets, colouring etc for kids when they arrive.
